Close to the shores of Loch Awe, at the foot of majestic 'munro' Ben Cruachan, Kilchrenan is an area of outstanding natural beauty with abundant wildlife and is an excellent base for exploring Argyll and the islands.

Within the village of Kilchrenan there is a friendly pub, which serves good pub food during the holiday season, and there are two country house hotels with first class restaurants close to the village on the shores of the loch. The Ardanaiseig and the Taychreggan.
The house is situated halfway between the two hotels with its grounds running down to the loch.

Local shops are available eight miles away in Taynuilt and Oban is only 40 minutes by car, with a good choice of shops, restaurants and bars - as well as a cinema, theatre, sports centre, golf, tennis, sailing and ferries to the islands.

Activities in the area include:

  • Walking
  • Fishing
  • Boat hire
  • Golf courses at Taynuilt, Dalmally and Oban
  • Horse riding
